~Cave TV Guide~

Channel 1: "Wiper"--Naked figures move through curtains of steam while water reflections ripple on the tiled walls. The lens gradually fogs, obscuring the scene.

Channel 2: "Slug Tape"--Contestants stand behind a series of lithic podiums, watching while a blurred-out ritual is performed on the game show floor. The contestants must then explain what they saw.

Channel 3: "Saur"--A flock of flamingos takes off in slow motion from a marsh choked with floating cans and plastic. Their silhouettes cross a sun so big it fills the screen.

Channel 4: "Gnyte"--Couples dance in a gymnasium hung with banners celebrating sporting victories in years including 198! and 19?3. The band onstage is asleep.

Channel 5: "Plusz"--A broken yellow line feeds beneath the wheels of a car with a hood ornament of a double star. The periphery is pitch black as if the road leads down into the center of the earth.

Channel 6: "Strut"--Commercials for car insurance, grocery delivery, plant therapy, a premium Cave TV cable package.

Channel 7: "InnerOuter"--A timelapse of a concrete bunker in a forest returning to nature over the course of 3,000 years. Soon the bunker opening is indistinguishable from the mouth of a cave.

Channel 8: "Walkaway"--A sitcom in reverse. Chaos, screaming, thrown pies rewind to a telephone call, dinner being prepared, dad coming home.

Channel 9: "Baths"--An interviewer tries to get a word in edgewise with a guest cackling with laughter. The audience slowly files out.

Channel 10: "Fluor"--A made-for-TV movie in the romcom mode. Teenagers kiss behind the bleachers at a high school set at the foot of a mountain.

Channel 11: "Offworld"--A cooking program with unusual ingredients: a plastic bag of glass, shed snakeskin, no-label liquor, running shoes.

Channel 12: "Highwei"--Cop drama. A chase ends when the pursued leaps from a bridge and floats away into the clouds.

Channel 13: "Flicq"--A nature documentary. Sweeping aerial shots of landscapes, slow-motion meditations on carcass devourment.

Channel 14: "Taiga"--This channel is not currently in service.

Channel 15: "Volle"--A sport of some sort. Two teams face off across a gravel yard, then charge, converging on kettlebells marked red, green and white.

Channel 16: "Redial"--An awards program. People in suits and partygowns take the stage to accept trophies in the shape of a double star.

Channel 17: "Throte"--Public access. A lone figure hunches over a table of instruments, generating squalls of white noise.
